Members must immediately notify the lifeguard/monitor or board member, as appropriate, of any unsafe behavior or condition. Unless otherwise communicated by the board of directions, should a lifeguard not be present, the pool will be closed.
A member who fails to appear for their assigned monitor night shall pay a fee of $100.00. Members will be notified and the fee will be charged to the member’s account.
Each member is responsible for making their substitute monitor night changes to the master monitor list. The original monitor will incur the fine for a no-show, even if the date has been traded.

Swimsuits that have been worn in natural waters (such as Oswego Lake, Columbia River, the Pacific Ocean, Willamette River, etc.) MUST BE WASHED prior to wearing in the pool to prevent introduction of algae into the pool.

GUEST FEES
Members must sign in all non-member guests. There is a fee of $5 per guest (swimmers and non-swimmers), which will be billed at the end of the season.
SWIM TEST
Children may take a swim test that allows them to visit the pool without an adult. The requirements and rules related to this test are outline below.
CHILDREN ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE THE SWIM TEST EACH YEAR. Passing of the swim test from previous years will not be recognized. A guardian must accompany children and guests to the swim test to sign the form indicating that their child has passed the swim test and is authorized to attend the pool without an adult present.
All members, including children, shall use the pool facilities at their own risk. Children under 14 years who have not passed the swim test will not be permitted in the pool area unless accompanied by a member or guest 14 years or older.
Children 10 through 13 years old may be permitted in the pool area unaccompanied if they have passed the swim test, and have submitted the signed form from their parents, which will be kept on file.
The swim test, to be administered by the lifeguard on duty, consists of the following:
Swimming two lengths of the pool without stopping.
Floating for two minutes.
Treading water for two minutes.
PARTIES
Party reservations allow members a 2-hour exclusive use of the upper deck table and grill area for 12 guests in addition to the host member family.
The party fee is $50. For any guests who are not members, the non-member guest fee will apply in addition to the party fee.
Party reservations must be made through the Pool Board at least 10 days in advance to accommodate additional lifeguard staff, if necessary. Only one group event is allowed at a time. If additional lifeguard staff is not available, the party reservation may not be allowed, at Pool Board discretion.
Parties do not have exclusive use of the pool area.
Group events are encouraged to take place at non-peak pool hours (noon-2 pm). Greentree Pool rules are to be observed by all event attendees.
Members who bring more than 10 guests will be assessed the party fee in addition to the non-member guest fees. Lifeguards will fill out a group event form to submit to the Pool Board.
On a member’s monitor night, up to 10 free guests are allowed. The party fee will apply if the monitor brings more than 10 guests.
The non-member guest fee does not apply to Pool Board members. The party fee will apply if the monitor brings more than 10 guests.
Fees will be billed at the end of the summer.
GUEST RULES
Members may not allow their guests to use the pool facilities when the member is not present or allow their guests to sign in using their member number.
All guest privileges shall consist of admission to and use of the pool facilities by any person who is not a member.
All guests are subject to the same provisions and rules as the members. It is the responsibility of the member to ensure their gust complies with all pool rules.
The lifeguard or monitor has the authority to restrict guest privileges whenever deemed necessary for the safe and orderly operation of the facilities.
The lifeguard or monitor may restrict or suspend all guest privileges as required to alleviate overcrowding of the pool facilities.
Members will record each non-member guest they bring when they check in using MemberSplash. This will provide the basis for obligating the pool member for payment of guest privileges extended to non-members. Payment will be billed to the member at the end of the season using the current guest fee rate.
ENFORCEMENT OF RULES
The lifeguard or monitor shall enforce the rules and may suspend pool privileges of individuals for the day for violation of these rules.
The lifeguard or monitor may report violations to the Board for appropriate action.
IDENTIFICATION PROCEDURES AT THE POOL
Members and guests must sign in each and every time they visit the pool using the current sign in procedure.
All persons using the pool facilities are required to properly identify themselves to the lifeguard or monitor on duty if requested.
GOOD NEIGHBOR POLICY
The long-term enjoyment of the pool by members will be enhanced if our neighbors consider the operation of the facilities to be non-objectionable. Members should ensure that our use of the pool does not intrude unreasonably upon our neighbors’ use and enjoyment of their property.
Screaming, yelling, or loud noises should always be avoided. Keep the area neat and clean, both inside and outside the fence. Care should be taken to minimize noise and other disturbances in the evenings when neighbors are likely to be outdoors.
Parking space is limited; walk to the pool if you can. Do not park in or block a neighbor’s driveway. Please use the bicycle racks for your bicycle. Avoid parking on Greentree Road as this has resulted in citations from the city.
Flagrant or continued disregard of this policy by members shall be reviewed by the Board and may constitute grounds for suspension of pool privileges.
Rules are reviewed and revised if necessary each year by the Board of the Greentree Swimming Pool Association. Effective 2023.
